How to specify that the resource quantity of a resource will be constrained

Q:How to specify that the resource quantity of a resource will be constrained

A:

Steps:

1.In the resource table, set the property "Resource quantity constraints" of the target resource to "Constrained".
2.When the property "Resource quantity constraints" of a resource is set to "Constrained", operations will be assigned to that resource in a way that the resource quantity will not exceed the value specified in the calendar table.

How to specify that the resource quantity of a resource will not be constrained

Q:How to specify that the resource quantity of a resource will not be constrained

A:

Steps:

1.In the resource table, set the property "Resource quantity constraints" of the target resource to "Not constrained".
2.When the property "Resource quantity constraints" of a resource is set to "Not constrained", operations will be assigned to that resource ignoring the resource quantity specified in the calendar table (as if the resource quantity is unlimited).

How to specify that operations will be assigned to a resource according to the resource quantity of that resource

Q:How to specify that operations will be assigned to a resource according to the resource quantity of that resource

A:

Steps:

1.In the resource table, set the property "Resource quantity constraints" of the target resource to "According to resource quantity".

When the property "Resource quantity constraints" of a resource is set to "According to resource quantity", production time will be changed according to the available resource quantity at the time to which the operation is assigned.

How to constrain assignable resources by width of the item to be produced

Q:How to constrain assignable resources by width of the item to be produced

A:

Steps:

1.Enter values in the "Num spec 1 MIN" and "Num spec 1 MAX" fields for a resource to specify num spec information as the range that the resource can support.
2.In the "Num spec" field of an order or item, specify a single value as the num spec of the item.

In the "Num spec" field, you can specify other characteristics of items that can be expressed in numerals, such as length and weight. If the num spec value specified in an order or item falls within the range between the num spec MIN and MAX values specified in a resource, the order is evaluated as assignable to that resource. If the num spec field is left blank, Asprova will treat the order as assignable to any resource.

How to constrain assignable resources by color of the item to be produced

Q:How to constrain assignable resources by color of the item to be produced

A:

Steps:

1.In the "Spec" field of a resource, enter information about the spec that the resource can produce. If there are multiple specs that the resource can produce, specify them by separating with semicolons.
2.In the "Spec" field of an order or item, specify a single value as the spec of the item.

In the "Num spec" field, you can specify other characteristics of items that can be expressed in strings, such as shapes and surface treatments.
If the spec value specified in an order or item matches one of the spec values specified in a resource, the order is evaluated as assignable to that resource.
If the spec field is left blank, Asprova will treat the order as assignable to any resource.

How to assign operations in a way that they cannot be suspended over a non-working time period

Q:How to assign operations in a way that they cannot be suspended over a non-working time period

A:

Steps:

1.In the resource Gantt chart or the resource table, select a resource for which you want to specify the Production suspend time MAX.
2.Select the Settings tab of the properties window.
3.Specify -1 for the property "Production suspend time MAX".

Depending on the value you specify for the property "Production suspend time MAX", the setting will have the following meanings.
-1 ..... Does not allow the operation to straddle non-working time.
0 ..... Allows an operation to straddle non-working time.
Positive integer ..... Indicates the maximum amount of time (in minutes) that an operation can be suspended.

How to assign setups in a way that they cannot be suspended over a non-working time period

Steps:

1.In the resource Gantt chart or the resource table, select a resource for which you want to specify the Setup suspend time MAX.
2.Select the Settings tab of the properties window.
3.Specify -1 for the property "Setup suspend time MAX".

Depending on the value you specify for the property "Setup suspend time MAX", the setting will have the following meanings.
-1 ..... Does not allow the setup to straddle non-working time.
0 ..... Allows the setup to straddle non-working time.
Positive integer ..... Indicates the maximum amount of time (in minutes) that the setup can be suspended.

* For teardowns, please use the property "Teardown suspend time MAX".

How to disable a resource

Q:How to disable a resource

A:

Steps:

1.In the resource table, set the property "Resource disabled" of the target resource to "Disabled". Or, right-click on the name of the target resource in the resource table and select "Disabled" from the popup menu.

How to specify resources that can be assigned to the next process

Q:How to specify resources that can be assigned to the next process

A:

Steps:

1.In the resource Gantt chart or the resource table, select a resource for which you want to specify next resources.
2.Select the Settings tab of the properties window.
3.Cleck the [+] sign to the left of the property "Next resources".
4.In the [New data] cell, specify a resource code that can be assigned to the next process. You can specify multiple resource codes.

* If you want to assign the next process strictly to the resource you specified as next resources, check the property " Strictly enforce next resource constraints" of the cheduling parameter settings.

How to round the production time of an operation

Q:How to round the production time of an operation

A:

Steps:

1.In the resource table, enter the production time round unit in the "Production time round unit" field of the target resource.

How to round the start time and end time of operations

Q:How to round the start time and end time of operations

A:

Steps:

1.In the resource table, enter the start/end time rounding unit in the "Start/end time round unit" field of the target resource.
2.The time to be rounded will be determined depending on the assignment direction in which an operation is assigned.
Assignment direction Time to be rounded
Forward Production start time
Backward Production end time

If you want to round the production start time and production end time in the same unit, specify the same unit as the production time round unit.

How to specify a setup time factor

Q:How to specify a setup time factor

A:

Steps:

In the resource table, enter a setup time factor in the "Setup time factor" field of the target resource.
1.The followings are the relationships between values you specify as setup time factors and production times:
Setup time factor Meanings
0: Regards as 1.
Greater than 0 and smaller than 1: Indicates a lower efficiency than normal. The setup time will increase.
1: 100%. The setup time will not change.
Greater than 1: Indicates a higher efficiency than normal. The setup time will decrease.

How to constrain the maximum amount that a furnace resource can process at once by production quantity

Q: How to constrain the maximum amount that a furnace resource can process at once by production quantity

A:

Steps:

1.In the resource table, set the "Assigned resource quantity flag" to "1" (proportionate to production quantity).
2.In the calendar table, enter the maximum production quantity by resource quantity in the "Shift codes" field. *1
*1. The resource quantity will be used as much as the result of multiplying the production quantity of an operation by the required resource quantity of a master use instruction.

How to specify the minimum and maximum quantities a resource can produce at once

Q:How to specify the minimum and maximum quantities a resource can produce at once

A:

Steps:

1.In the resource table, specify the maximum quantity that the resource can produce at once in the "Resource split size MAX" field of the target resource.
2.In the resource table, specify the minimum quantity that the resource can produce at once in the "Resource split size MIN" field of the target resource.

If you specify zero for both the resource split size MIN and MAX, there will be no constraint. If the production quantity of an operation is smaller than the resource split size MIN, the operation's production quantity will be increased to the resource split size MIN. (However, the increased quantity cannot be reflected onto the input item.)
If the production quantity of an operation is greater than the resource split size MAX, the operation will be automatically split.
