The Asprova E-Learning Course for Hands-on Training takes you from the basics of registering the master data into all of the main tables, up through the configuration of the scheduling logic and finally the setting of the parameters for the actual importing and exporting of data. Hands-on Training Lessons

Course Start - Understanding the Current Situation . . .

An explanation of the purpose of the E-Learning Course for Hands-on Training including information about target readers and course prerequisites. An introduction to the Profit Increase Diagnosis Sheet will help you understand the current situation in your manufacturing factory and set the goals you aim to achieve with the Production Scheduling System Asprova.

Lesson One - Creating Master Data

An introduction to some of the most important tables with step by step instructions on how to register the data. Practice entering master data using the Integrated Master Editor and learn about the settings necessary for main resources and sub resources.

Lesson Two - Parametric BOM and Skill Map

Learn how to configure the Integrated Master Editor to define multiple items for a single item by specifying condition expressions. Register the skills of individual workers and reflect them on to the schedule.

Lesson Three - Graphical User Interface (Tables)

A guide to each of the various window types explaining the kind of data displayed and how to access it. Detailed explanation on how to sort and filter the table information and create different display styles by customizing the layout.

Lesson Four - Graphical User Interface (Charts)

An overview of the main charts and graphs available with practical information on how to alter the information displayed by creating your own special text expressions. Learn how to configure the display settings and compare different charts together at the same time.

Lesson Five - Techniques to Shorten Lead Times . . .

In Asprova, there are various features for shortening lead times and eliminating late deliveries, which you can use for the schedules you created through Asprova. Here we look at some of these to improve the scheduling results.

Lesson Six - Command and Scheduling Parameter

A scheduling parameter is a command for making a schedule and by using your own customized scheduling parameters you will be able to specify the parameters you require to make the schedule most suited to your manufacturing shop-floor. This section explains how to build up your own scheduling parameters.

Lesson Seven - Order (Inventory) Pegging . . .

There are different ways to process orders such as Make To Order and Assemble To Order. By effectively registering and pegging the various kinds of orders you will be able to increase on-time deliveries, shorten delivery lead times and reduce inventory. In this lesson we will take a look how Asprova can be configured to handle these different kinds of orders.

Lesson Eight - Creating a Prototype 2 . . .

Up to now, we have been able to successfully enhance our scheduling results to reduce lead times and increase on-time deliveries by using Asprova's various features. Now, our goal is to improve the scheduling precision so that we can meet increasing customer orders. For this lesson, we will look at how we can specify resource constraints.

Lesson Nine - Creating a Prototype 3 . . .

Continuing from lesson 8, our goal is still to improve the scheduling precision so that we can meet increasing customer orders. For this lesson, we will explain the logics of how to determine operation assignment direction and calculate quantities.

Lesson Ten - Creating a Prototype 4 . . .

In lesson 10 we will look at how Asprova can be configured to handle various different kinds of constraints. In particular, we will add the necessary settings to support a heat treatment option using a batch process type furnace.

Lesson Eleven - Creating a Prototype 5 . . .

Lesson 11 builds on the constraints introduced in lesson 10 and introduces several different new uses.

Lesson Twelve - Connecting to External Systems

This lesson explains how to connect Asprova to external systems such as an RDB (relational database) or text file. We will also practice how to configure Asprova to import from an external data source controlled master, calendar and shift etc.

Lesson Thirteen - Custom Menu

Here we will practice the exporting of data and look at the entire scheduling cycle including the output of work instructions and the input of results. Furthermore, you'll learn how to create your own customized menu commands for importing and exporting.
